Airtel Hack for free internet

You need a PC or a Laptop and the required connectivity tools ,ie.,Serial/USB cable OR Infrared Device OR Bluetooth dongle.

1) Activate Airtel Live! ( It’s FREE so no probs)

2) Create TWO Airtel gprs data accounts (yep TWO) and select theFIRST as the active profile.

3) Connect your mobile to the PC (or Laptop) and install the driver foryour mobile’s modem.

4) Create a new dial-up connection using the NEW CONNECTIONWIZARD as follows.

Connecting Device : Your mobile’s modem

ISP Name : Airtel (or anything you like)

Phone Number : *99***2# / Try 99***1

Username and Password : blank

5) Configure your browser and download manager to use the proxy100.1.200.99 and port 8080.( My advice is to use Opera since youcan browse both wap and regular websites)

6) Connect to the dial-up account. You will be connected at 115.2kbps (but remember, that is a bad joke).

7) Pick up your mobile and try to access any site. You will get “AccessDenied…”(except for Airtel Live!). IT DOES NOT MATTER.Keep the mobile down.

8 ) On the PC ( or Laptop) open your browser, enter any address ,press ENTER and…….WAIT

9) After a few seconds the page will start to load and you have theWHOLE internet at your disposal.

Universal Serial Charger

You’re a road warrior—complete with laptop, but your cell phone is running out of power. You need it on, but there’s not a power outlet in sight. What do you do? In the post-K750i era, most phones will charge off their USB cables, but fret not if you have an older phone—if you’ve got a charger and USB cable to spare, you can make your own in 15 minutes! The method works with most phones that have a 3.6 Volt Li-ion battery (this is usually mentioned on the battery itself), but still may not work with some, so make sure it’s a spare charger you’re using. We’ve used a Sony Ericsson K508 for this, but most phones will do—there are supposedly cell phones out there that wouldn’t work—requiring greater current than the USB port can deliver—but these should be very few, and you’d be really unlucky to have ended up with one.

1. Know Thy USB

The two extremes (pins 4 and 1from left to right) are the ones we’re after—they’re the negative and positive terminals for USB power respectively. Pins 2 and 3 are for data.

2. Hack ‘Em Up

Use a wire cutter or just a blade to cut and open up both the charger and USB cable. The red and black wires in the USB cable are what we’re concerned with—the white and green are for data, so don’t bother with those. Your charger should have red and black wires too—we know of none that wouldn’t have the colour-coding, but you never know.

3. Making Ends Meet

You’ve probably guessed this now—join the two red wires and the two black wires. If you have access to one, use a soldering iron and secure the connections using solder. This will keep it intact even if you use it a bit roughly. Insulate them from each other using electrical tape (extremely important), and you’re done!

4 .Testing...

WOW! It works! The next time you have a battery emergency, just leech power off your laptop and make that all-important call!

New Range From Nokia

Nokia announced a whole bunch of new budget-oriented mobile phones.

The new handsets are Nokia 1200, 1208, 1650, 2660, 2630 and 2760...

They boast some spanking new features and thus show that the low-end mobile phone market is also a field that offers grounds for innovation.

Nokia 1200 • Nokia 1208
Both Nokia 1200 and Nokia 1208 are candy bar shaped phones designed for the emerging markets and thus lack most of the standard features you expect to see in a phone nowadays. Nevertheless, they do provide some interesting "extras". The call-time tracking function allows calls to be automatically ended after a preset limit in order to reduce costs to the user. The multi-phonebook allows several users of the same handset to have their own phonebook lists. Other functions of these phones are one-touch flashlight, localized languages, tutorial, etc. The difference between the two models is that Nokia 1200 comes with a monochrome display, while the Nokia 1208 is equipped with a color CSTN display.

Nokia 1650 • Nokia 2630
Nokia 1650 is another entry-level candy bar phone but is much more sophisticated in terms of features compared to the previous two models. This one has FM radio, MP3 support, localization in 75 languages and also has a flashlight and option for pre-set call time limit.

Nokia 2660 is a clamshell phone with rather nice design a bit more than basic functions. The phone features GPRS connectivity, Bluetooth, FM radio, MP3 support and a 500-entry phonebook.

The Nokia 2630 and the Nokia 2760 are also low-end handsets but are much more feature-rich than the previous four models. The Nokia 2630 candy bar phone is the thinnest model in Nokia portfolio with its mere 9.9 mm. It is equipped with a camera, Bluetooth, FM radio and MP3 support.
