SOME REGISTRY HACKS TO MAKE XP FASTER
(A note before proceeding you should make a Back-Up of Registry before Proceeding)
To open RegistryEditer go to Start-->Run then type "regedit" without inverted commas
Some short names used
HLM:- HKEY LOCAL MACHNE
HCU:- HKEY CURRENT USER
HCR:- HKEY CLASSES ROOT
(1.) Load Applications Faster (Result:- Applications will load faster)
Go to:- HLM\SYSTEMCurrent Controller Set\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\Prefetch Parameters
Open it and find EnablePrefatcher and change it from 3 to 9
(2.) Load Kernel into RAM (Result:- XP boots Super Fast)
Go to:- HLM\System\Current Controller Set\Control\Session\Memory Management
Open it and find DisablePagingExecutive cange it to 1
Note:- For above Registry Edit You Should Atleast Have A 512 MB Of RAM
(3.) Optimize The System Cache (Result:-Large System Cache As a Result Faster Windows)
Go to:- HLM\Software\Microsoft\ Windows\Current Version\Session Manager\Memory Management
Open it and find LArgSystemCache change it to 1
Check and Set DMA (Result:- Fast Hard Disk Working)
Right Click on My Computer Icon--> Properties--> Hardware--> Device Manager
Open It and find 'IDE ATA/ATAPI'-->Primary IDE Channel--> PropertiesAdvanced Properties
Chsnge transfer mode to 'DMA if avaliable'
